St. Joseph’s Catholic Church is seeking photos, press clippings, stories and historical information about the church for their 140th anniversary celebration in 2020.

Grief support group signup underway
Loss of a Spouse event hosted by Malda Burns is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sept. 9 in the Bill Jones classroom at Meadowbrook Baptist Church, 1401 Colorado Ave., Rockdale.

She will discuss Grief-Share, a weekly seminar and support group designed to help those suffering from a loss to rebuild their lives.
The grief support group helps individuals after the death of a loved one.
The group will meet for 13 weeks Sept. 16-Dec. 9, 6-8 p.m. at Meadowbrook Baptist Church.

Church celebrates its 112 year with homecoming
Rising Star Baptist Church is celebrating its 112 year anniversary with a homecoming celebration Sunday, Sept.
15.
The two services set for 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. will be at 1055 Texas St., Rockdale.
Pastor Charles Ray Terry, a 1966 RHS graduate, and the congregation from the Greater New Birth Baptist Church of Plano will be guests.
Edgar and Alice Davis are the 2019 homecoming sponsors.
Comedian headlines church cancer event
Tracie L. Davis will host the Jokes for Hope in honor of breast cancer awareness month Oct. 26 at Rising Star Baptist Church.
John Olivarez and the J and J Praise Ministry will hold worship service.
