Christmas time events
New Jerusalem Interdenominational Church has a couple of Christmas season events in upcoming weeks as follows:
• Dec. 6, 6 p.m., New Jerusalem Releasing the Sound Praise team will be at the city library, corner of Ackerman and Cameron (FM 487 and US 79). Public welcome to attend.
• Dec. 19, 6:30 p.m. The church will host its annual Christmas Pageant. Presentation includes a dramatic presentation “Well Done, Thou Good and Faithful Servant.” The public is invited to attend an evening of praise and worship.
New Jerusalem Interdenominational Church is located at 301 Mulberry.

ahead at Meadowbrook
Meadowbrook Baptist Church is sponsoring new ministries for the community entitled “GriefShare.”
One has been held and two more are scheduled in upcoming months as follows:
• Jan. 7, 2019—Loss of a Spouse, a 2-½ hour seminar.
• Jan. 14-April 8, 2019—GriefShare, a 13-week video program taught by 46 of the top leaders in grief and recovery.

Thanksgiving offering
goes to counseling group
The offering from last week’s Community Thanksgiving service has been donated to an abuse counseling program.
Jason Hollinger, minister at Murray Street Church of Christ and president of the Rockdale Ministerial Alliance, said $331 was collected at the Nov. 19 service at Rising Star Baptist Church.
“It has been donated to Live Free, a Christian substance abuse counseling program,” he said.
Sermon was brought by Rev. R. L. Love, pastor of First Assembly of God Church.
‘Silent Night’ outdoors Sunday near Thorndale
Memorial Baptist Church at Olde Bethlehem, near Thorndale, will present an outdoor musical production of “Silent Night” at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
The afternoon and evening activities begin with opening of the Bethlehem Market at 5:15 p.m., followed by pre-pageant music at 6.
The outdoor pageant follows conclusion of the music at 6:30.
To get to Memorial Baptist Church go to Thorndale on US 79 and turn south onto FM 486 (Main Street) at the traffic light.
Then turn left onto Milam County Road 450.
The church is on the left at 323 County Road 450.
New Jerusalem honors Brookses on Dec. 16th
New Jerusalem Interdenominational Church will honor its founders and pastors in a special service on Sunday, Dec. 16.
Dr. Dennis L. and Clara Brooks will be honored for 38 years of ministry in a 3 p.m. special service that afternoon.
Guest speaker will be Bishop Clarence Drummond of United Faith Church, Copperas Cove.
The church is located at 301 Mulberry and the public is invited to attend.
On the previous day, Saturday, Dec. 15, a free workshop is scheduled at New Jerusalem and The Institute for Teaching God’s Word with 24 covenant pastors.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Rockdale Christian
offers ‘Coats for Kids’
Rockdale Christian Church is providing new coats for children in the community “who are not fortunate enough to have good winter clothing,” according to Minister Harry Stevenson.
To qualify, a parent or guardian of a child elementary age or younger should contact the church at 512-446-2568 or 512-734-9155.
“A coat will be ordered once the request has been received and the necessary information has been provided,” Stevenson said.
St. Paul Lutheran sets
fish fry for December 9
THORNDALE—High school youth of St. Paul Lutheran in Thorndale will host a fish fry on Sunday Dec. 9 at Fireman’s Hall.
Hours are 11 a.m. until sold out and plates will be $10 each.
Money raised will go toward the group’s trip to Minneapolis, Minnesota, for the 2019 National Youth Gathering.
Menu will include fried fish, noodles, beans and slaw.
