World Day of Prayer Celebrates Zimbabwe

World Day of Prayer is a Christian women-led ecumenical movement that aims to bring together people of various races, cultures, and traditions in a yearly communion of Prayer Day.

The women of Zimbabwe have written this year’s service. Zimbabwe, officially the Republic of Zimbabwe, formerly Rhodesia, is a landlocked country located in Southern Africa. The meaning of Zimbabwe is ‘House of Stones’.

A major attraction there is Victoria Falls, considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Zimbabwe has one of the highest literacy rates in Africa at 91 percent.
