Peace Lutheran hosting Terri’s Christmas Lunch

Terri’s Touch of Christmas Spirit Day Meal is scheduled for Christmas Day, Tuesday, Dec. 25, at Peace Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall.

This Christmas marks Terri Sandoval’s fifth year to provide a hot Christmas meal to the elderly and shut-ins in the Rockdale area.

She is in need of volunteers to help fill and deliver plates who should be at the church by 9:30 a.m.

Distribution begins about 10:30. “This is a pick-up-your-plate event,” Rebecca Luckey, spokesperson, said. “It won’t be a sit-down-and-eat event.”

Anyone interested in donating supplies or money should contact Luckey at 512-760-5775.

Anyone knowing someone that needs to be added to our list, should call Luckey at the above number and give her the name, address, and number of plates needed.

Rockdale Christian sets Candlelight service

Rockdale Christian Church is presenting a candlelight service for 6 p.m. Christmas Eve, Monday, Dec. 24.

“Everyone is invited to observe in remembrance the birth of our savior in column praise and worship,” ministry Harry Stevenson said.

Rockdale Christian Church is located at 1401 Sager (corner of Sager and Rockdale Road).

Candlelight service for Meadowbrook Baptist

Meadowbrook Baptist Church will hold its Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 6 p.m., Monday, Dec. 24, at the church.

The church is located at 1401 Colorado, just south of Rockdale High School.

‘Cradle to Cross’ Sunday at Forest Grove Church

Ruby McGill Ministries will present “From Cradle to Cross for You” at 6 p.m. Sunday at Forest Grove Christian Church, according to Minister Lance Walch.

Ministry greeting cards will be available for purchase and a love offering ill be accepted, he said.

Forest Grove Christian Church is located at 8097 US 77 south of Rockdale.

St. John’s UMC plans

Candlelight service

St. John’s United Methodist Church will hold its Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, at the church.

The church is located at the intersection of Summit and Hillcrest, one block north of US 79.

Candlelight service for St. Thomas Episcopal

St. Thomas Episcopal Church will hold its Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, at the church, according to Vicar Pam Graham.

She said there will be no Christmas Day services.

Peace Lutheran plans special holiday events

Peace Lutheran Church has scheduled the following events:

• Dec. 11, 6 p.m., women’s ornament exchange.

• Dec. 12, 6 p.m. soup supper; 6:30, Advent service; 7 p.m., church council.

• Dec. 19, 6 p.m. soup supper; 6:30, Advent service.

• Dec. 24, 6 p.m., Christmas Eve Service.

Gause church plans advent, Dec. 24 services

Gause United Methodist Church announces Advent through Christmas Eve Services.

Pastor Kyle McNeely invites the community to participate in all or any of the worship services.

A Remembrance Service “The Longest Night will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 21.

“This service is for anyone who has lost someone this year or still grieves for someone lost in the past,” spokesperson Reba Fischer said.

Rockdale Christian offers ‘Coats for Kids’

Rockdale Christian Church is providing new coats for children in the community “who are not fortunate enough to have good winter clothing,” according to Minister Harry Stevenson.

To qualify, a parent or guardian of a child elementary age or younger should contact the church at 512-446-2568 or 512-734-9155.

“A coat will be ordered once the request has been received and the necessary information has been provided,” Stevenson said.

First Presbyterian lists Christmas time services

Christmas season events of First Presbyterian Church have been listed as follows:

Dec 23 –Fourth Sunday of Advent 10:30 a.m. worship.

Dec 24—Traditional Candlelight service of Carols, Special Music and Lessons, 7 p.m.
