There are two expiring seats on the city council which will be voted on in the May 6 elections.
Current mayor pro tem Lin Perry is running for his West ward seat unopposed.
The East ward seat being vacated by Denise Holmes Wallace after two terms will have a race between Brittany Bell and David Melton.
There are two non-contested races in the expiring school board positions. Julia Cardona has filed for her current Place 7 seat, and Janice Keen is on the ballot for Place 6.
Also on the ballot in May is the $30 million school bond measure which will include safety and security updates. (See editorial on page 6A.)
Rockdale’s voting locations will be the old hospital for early voting at 1700 Brazos Ave., and for voting day on May 6 the location will be the American Legion Carlyle Post at 2534 North FM 487.
Early voting starts on Monday, April 24, and the hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day.
