If you’re used to running by Rockdale City Hall at lunch, better do it soon.
Beginning Jan. 2, 2019, the facility will close for an hour, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
City Manager Chris Whittaker told The Reporter that the new hours will allow the facility to be fully staffed at all times by doing away with staggered lunch hours.
Hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. there will be no lobby, telephone or drive-through service available to the public.
But Whittaker noted there remain alternatives for paying bills.
“There is a 12-hour drop-box at the end of the drive-through lane, you can pay online at www.rockdalecityhall.com or set up an automatic bank draft,” he said.
Call 512-446-2511 to set up the bank draft, he said.
Rockdale City Hall is located at the southwest corner of Cameron and Wilcox (US 79 and FM 487).
