At Monday night’s city council meeting Rockdale Police Chief Jerry Meadors introduced two new Rockdale Police Officers. This year’s city budget includes money for two more new officers The General Land Office gave the city a $4.3 million grant for drainage issues and the biggest ones will repair drainage at US 79 and Meadow Drive, US 79 at Childress, Seventh Street at MLK and West Belton Avenue.
Updates on HOT funds were given by the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce, the East Bell Taphouse for Rocktober Fest and the Rockdale Fair Association on how they used the funds.
The police department has received many complaints about individuals running the stop signs at Bell Street and Main Street and at Bell and Ackerman. They city will ask TxDOT to install flashing stop signs at those locations.
