The City of Rockdale has issued its response to the COVID-19 situation.

City Secretary Terry Blanchard said the city will continue to provide all city services but encourages “all city business to be handled online or on the phone, where possible.”

“We are constantly monitoring and assessing the situation,” she said.

Here’s a list of what’s happening with the city until further notice:

• City Hall is closed. Sort of. The drive-through window remains open for payment of water bills and there is a drop-box for non-office hour payments. Customers may pay online at www.rockdalecityhall.com. Info at 512-446-2511 (City Hall) or 512-446-0812 (Municipal Court)

• Here’s the “sort of” part. Anyone with show cause (appearing) at Municipal Court may enter through the back of the building (City Council Chambers).

• The Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library is closed to the public but library staff will be on hand to provide curb service of those customers who have previously contacted the library with specific requests.

• Police services continue as usual. (Of course).

• Public works services continue as usual.
