The City of Rockdale is going to do a trial run of curbside recycling with Brannon Industrial Group (BIG), the city’s current trash contractor. In order for this to happen the city needs at least 200 people to sign up for the twice per month service which is $12 per month.
When Rockdalians sign up they will be provided a cart similar to their current trash bins.
The curbside recycling bill will be included in your monthly water/ sewer bill from the city.
Allowable materials for recycling are metal cans which should be rinsed and cleaned; type No. 1 and No. 2 plastics which should also be rinsed; paper products, such as newspapers, magazines, junk mail, brown paper bags and non-confidential business paper; and flattened cardboard and paperboard dairy and juice containers.
