Rockdale Police made five felony arrest over the past week with all of them coming as a result of traffic stops. All those arrested were either wanted by Rockdale police or by another law enforcement agency.
FELONY ARRESTS— Mario Antonio Nunez-Romero, 35, of Taylor, on Sept. 1 for possession of a controlled substance (less than one gram) and two bond surrenders.
Geovanny David Contes, 32, of Rockdale on Sept. 2 for driving with invalid license with previous conviction, possession of marijuana and possession of controlled substances.
Andrew John Gaertner, 42, New Braunfels, on Sept. 2 on a warrant for theft (less than $2,500) with two or more previous convictions.
Aaron Wayne Norman, 30, of Rockdale on Sunday for driving with and invalid license and possession of a controlled substance.
Dwight Eugene Davis, 58, of Rockdale, on Sunday for possession of a controlled substances and for fighting with another person.
CALLS FOR SERVICE—Officers responded to 224 total calls of which 116 were 911 calls over the past week.
ACCIDENT—Pol i c e responded to a two-vehicle accident in front of a restaurant on Cameron Avenue on Sunday at 12:28 p.m.
Both vehicles sustained major damage one to the front end of the car and the other on the passenger side door.
Police made numerous arrests over the past week that included arrests on a warrant of a bond surrender and possession of a dangerous drug.
There were two arrests for driving with expired registration and another for resisting arrest, search or transport.
There was one arrest on an indecent exposure charge of a man who a witness saw masturbating in public.
One person was arrested on a public intoxication charge who had three prior convictions.
Another person got arrested on a charge of driving with an invalid license with a prior conviction.
There was an arrest for possession of marijuana greater that two ounces.
One person was arrested for driving without a driver’s license and there was an arrest for a theft of more than $100.
Police issued 11 citations over the past week that included speeding and running stop sign.
