Milam students earn honors listings
BELTON—A number of Milam County scholars have earned honors at The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor during the 2018 Fall Semester.
Named to the Provost’s Honor Roll were the following:
• Annie Hasselbach and Emily McCoy, Rockdale.
• Tyler Dent, Cameron.
To be named to the Provosts Honor Roll a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.85 or better, based on a 4-point scale.
Named to the Dean’s Honor Roll were:
• Peyton Graham and Emma Pickett, Rockdale.
• Eric Rojas, Connor Thompson, Cameron.
Hunter Towery, Thorndale.
To be named to the Dean’s Honor Roll a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 to 3.85, based on a 4-point scale.
Thorndale native new honor society member
SAN MARCOS—Julie Porter of Thorndale was recently initiated into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline honor society.
She was inducted at Texas State University.
Porter is among approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be inducted into Phi Kappa Phi each year.
Membership is by nomination only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent are eligible for membership.
Phi Kappa Phi was founded in 1897 and now has more than 300 chapters.
