Students from Rockdale Junior-High School will host a Scholastic Book Fair beginning Monday and lasting through Friday, March 29.
Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, March 28, and 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, March 29.
Librarian Pat Elliott said the Book Fair will feature a wide range of books for all ages, including mystery and adventure novels, fantasy series, sports guides, graphic novels, and the latest bestsellers from more than 100 publishers.
Parents, children, teachers, and the community are invited to attend.
“On Thursday, March 28, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., the Book Fair will feature Family Night, with activities, contests, door prizes and more,” she said.
Student volunteers, nicknamed “The Crew” helped to plan the Fair and will also help run it, according to Elliott.
“From creating special promotions and merchandising displays to managing inventory and assisting shoppers with their selections, Crew members learn real-life skills while helping to make reading for pleasure a cool activity at their school,” she said.
Elliott said Book Fair attendees can also help build classroom libraries by purchasing books for teachers through the Classroom Wish List program.
