Cookoff, car show are hits at Apache Pass

There was a tall truck, new trucks and old trucks at the first 2020 Apache Pass Barbecue Cookoff and Car Show last weekend. In fact, it was an old—but looking all shiny and new—orange Chevrolet Apache pickup that was the judges’ choice for best of show honors.

Yes, there were plenty of cars, too, on display for the show the organizers called a success.

The barbecue cookoff that was held along with the show was also a big hit as it drew 92 teams to cook for top honors in brisket, ribs, chicken and beans.
