The city council approved the conditions for issuing the public improvement bonds that are funding some of the public improvement within the Cornerstone Subdivision at a special called meeting.
The developer, Ranch Road Development, agreed to reduce the overall tax rate for city, county and school taxes from $3.15 to $3.02 by absorbing more of the costs themselves and taking a lower profit which will be very nice for future residents of the subdivision.
According to Rockdale City Manager Barbara Holly, “Ranch Road Development is speeding up the building of the subdivision because they can and they believe the market is ripe for what they are offering. They have been an excellent development partner for the City of Rockdale.”
Scott Miller with Ranch Road Properties was at the meeting and spoke to the council about speeding up the process from what was originally planned. In Phase 1A of the subdivision streets will begin being paved within the next 30 days and single-family homes will be available starting in the spring of 2024.
The development of the planned townhomes may also be moved up on the schedule, and landscaping and signage will begin in January.
