The Rockdale City Council was not able to vote on the proposed budget during Monday night’s regular council meeting due to a council member being out with an injury. They will vote next Monday in a special called meeting.
The first reading of the ordinance set the budget at $5.5 million dollars in the general fund and $3.2 million in the enterprise fund with the tax rate set at .85, up from .8015 this year. Mayor Ward Roddam, Public Works Director Jerald Brunson and the council also recognized public works employees Charles Harnar, Matt McGowan, Derek Wettstein and James Sanders for getting licensed in wastewater and surface water and groundwater.
