The annual Milam County Crop Tour will get under way June 25 with registration along with coffee and breakfast at 7:30 a.m. at Buddy Johnson’s farm at 6993 North FM 486 in Thorndale.
At 8 a.m., the corn demonstration variety trial led by Dr. Ronnie Schnell, a grain sorghum and corn specialist with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, will be held.
Dr. Scott Nolte, who is the extension service’s weed specialist, will lead a discussion on integrated weed management.
The tour will then move to its next stop in Buckholts to Jay Beckhusen’s place for discussions on grain sorghum and cotton.
The next stop is the Buckholts Community Center for lunch and market updates, regulations on pesticide applications, recognitions and door prizes.
