Milam County held its swearing-in ceremony Jan. 1 in the county courthouse.

Those sworn in at the ceremony were: District Judge John Youngblood; District Attorney Bill Torrey; Commissioner Art Neal, Precinct 3; Commissioner Henry Hubnik, Precinct 1; Milam County Sheriff Chris White; Constable James Pratt, Precinct 1; Constable Charlie West, Precinct 2; Constable Jay Beathard, Precinct 3; Constable Michael Moehling, Precinct 4; and Tax Assessor/Collector Sherry Mueck.

Neal and Hubnik are new to the county commission, and Pratt, who has been in law enforcement all of his adult life, is the newly-elected Precinct 1 constable.

The rest were reelected to their positions. All of these individuals will serve a four year term.

Those sworn in at the ceremony were elected in the Nov. 3 election.

“This is a fine group of individuals that are truly dedicated to serving in the best interest of Milam County. We welcome them all and look forward to making progress and moving the county forward in 2021,” County Judge Steve Young said.
