CAMERON—Meeting in regular session Monday in the county courthouse Milam County Commissioners approved a 3-cent tax increase.
The vote, in a series of motions was 4-1. Precinct Commissioner Donald Shuffield voted against, citing the 3-cent increase as his reason.
The new rate reflects 67.869 cents for maintenance and operation with 5.131 cents for debt service.
Two thirds goes to the general fund and one third is equally split among the precinct road and bridge funds.
