The COVID-19 positivity rate is at 30 percent in Milam County. However, the vaccine is here and while the vaccination is not mandatory, officials are “strongly recommending” people get a shot.
THE NUMBERS—COVID-19 cases this week have been measured Wednesday to Tuesday.
• Cumulative cases – 863, up 38 from 825.
• Active cases (PCR test) – 42, which is down 21 from last week’s 63.
• Confirmed (antigen) cases – 519, up 35 from 484.
• Hospitalized – 15, up 4 from 11.
• Deaths – 11, no change.
TESTING—Free antigen (93 percent accurate) testing continues with all testing from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., except Buckholts which is 8 a.m. to noon:
• Wednesday—Milano, Milano Fire Station.
• Thursday—Cameron, Cameron Fire Station.
• Friday—Buckholts 111 West Main.
• Monday, Rockdale, former Richards Memorial Hospital.
• Tuesday—Thorndale, Fireman’s Hall.
