Milam County voters remained strongly Republican in Tuesday’s general election, with Donald Trump receiving 8,627 votes (78.30 percent) to 2,315 votes for Kamala Harris (21.01 percent).

Ted Cruz received 8,286 Milam County votes (75.62 percent) to Colin Allred’s 2,447 votes (22.33 percent).

U.S. Rep. District 17 Pete Sessions won 8,658 (79.65 percent) Milam County votes, and State Representative Stan Gerdes won 8,543 votes (79.29 percent).

The county didn’t have any contested local elections so District Judge John Youngblood, County Attorney Brian Price, Sheriff Mike Clore, Tax Assessor-Collector Melissa Fritz, Pct. 1 Commissioner Henry “Hub” Hubnik, Pct. 3 Commissioner Art Neal, Pct. 1 Constable Zack Burks, Pct. 2 Constable Richard Doug Veach, Pct. 3 Constable Jay Beathard and Pct. 4 Constable Kirby Shoemake all won their races.
