There are now ninety-three active COVID-19 cases in Milam County.  "This is ten more than our previous record high of eighty-three.  Today we have eleven new PCR cases and eight new probable cases to report.  Nine cases were discharged, including six PCR cases and three probable cases.  Twenty-two individuals were tested in Thorndale with seven positive results.  Two individuals were admitted to local hospitals." said County Judge Steve Young in his daily report Thursday.

 

Over the past 14 days of testing, we have tested 490 individuals with 126 positive results, which is a 25.7% positivity rate, he noted.

 

Today's testing is in Cameron at the Cameron VFD from 8 a.m.  to 3 p.m.  If you are a Milam County resident with COVID symptoms stop by for a free COVID antigen test. 

 

Below is the current virus tally for Milam County.  Note that the Milam County Health Department has quarantined and/or monitored 2,550 individuals in the county since the pandemic started. This is roughly 10% of the population of the County and a huge task for the Health Department.
