The COVID-19 numbers are again down. There are 16 active cases in Milam County, which is the lowest it has been since early summer. There are two Milam County residents hospitalized and one is in serious condition, according to County Judge Steve Young’s daily report.
“Do not let today’s lower numbers cause you to let your guard down. Please continue to be vigilant. Wear your mask, keep your distance, wash your hands and by all means get vaccinated,” Young said.
There will be a second round, 300-dose clinic in Cameron at the former Cameron hospital Thursday. It is primarily for those vaccinated Jan. 28.
There will be a first-round 400-dose clinic in Rockdale at the former Rockdale Medical Clinic on Friday.
Those to be vaccinated will be contacted and told of their appointment time. There will be no walk-ins. If you are called, please download the appropriate consent form, complete it and bring it with you. This will save a lot of time. The forms are available online at:

There are 2,955 people on the waiting list. More drugs are coming to the county and eventually everyone in this county that wants a shot will get one.
“If you are in group 1A or group 1B, call 254-697-7000 or email Amy Guillen at aguillen@milamcounty.net and get on the list. When your turn comes, we will call and schedule your appointment,” Young said.
