Milam County’s fight against the COVID-19 Pandemic is far from over but it’s definitely been heading in the right direction.

Only 16 positive tests were recorded during the week, a drop of three from the previous week’s 19.

(The Reporter lists a week of cases from early Wednesday to early Wednesday.)

The county has now logged fewer than 20 cases in three of the past four weeks.

Friday was a red-letter day in the county with no cases at all logged. It’s the first time that’s happened since early spring.

THE NUMBERS— Cumulative cases, as of Wednesday morning were 476, up from 460.

Active cases were steady at 20 and probable cases went up from 29 to 43.

The Milam County Health Department is monitoring 57 people, down from 58.

Five deaths (no change) have been reported and six persons are in hospitals, down two from eight last week.
