The Music Association of Central Texas (MACT) inducted well-known central Texas band, Crash Landing, into its Hall of Recognition on Dec. 18, 2021
Crash Landing, founded in 1984 by band leader Rick Turnpaugh, has entertained fans throughout Texas over the years and released two original albums during that time.
Band members include Turnpaugh, Rockdale native Donald “Doc” Shuffield who joined in 1991, Rick Vail from Harker Heights, Kirby Sodek from Temple, Keith Kelln from Heidenheimer and Paul Brown from Dripping Springs. The band joins the likes of Willie Nelson, Pat Green, Billy Joe Shaver and David Zychek.
