The first Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) Mobile Food Pantry distribution of June in the KC Hall parking lot will be held on Thursday, according to Rockdale Christian Services Chair Pam Warren.
Distributions are held the first and third Thursdays, June 4 and 18. Hours are 9 to 11 a.m.
“As with previous distributions, this will be a drive-through model with the clients remaining in their vehicles to maintain social distancing,” she said.
PLEA—RCS has issued a plea to those using the service.
“It has come to our attention that there are some people using the side building at the KC Hall as a restroom during the twice monthly mobile food pantries,” Warren said.
“That building is a working kitchen,” she added. “The barbecue building is not an outhouse. This action is not acceptable!”
Warren said if the situation continues, “we will be forced to cease having the mobile pantry until a new location can be found.”
“There is no need to be at the KC Hall before 8 a.m. Whether you are first in line or 127th in line, you will receive the same box of food,” she said.
Warren said a video system has been installed in the area, adding: “Anyone caught on video using the area as a restroom will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
