Rockdale Cub Scouts Pack 789 had five Cub Scouts awarded their Bobcat pin. The Bobcat achievement is the first award as a Cub Scout.
According to Cubmaster Jennifer Eubank, The Cub Scouts learned the scout law, oath, motto, handshake and sign to achieve this pin.
“Pins are placed on the uniform upside down then turned up when the scout makes a ‘good turn’ it is then flipped,” she said.
A patch is sewn on their uniform to show this achievement to others.
Earning the patch were:
• Jesse Montelongo, Webelos II.
• Conor Murchison-Gardner, Webelos I.
• Cooper Von Gonten, Wolf.
• Savannah Zapata, Webelos I.
• Katie Zapata, Webelos I.
Cub Scouts meet on Sunday afternoons from 2-4 at St John’s United Methodist Church, 1700 Hillcrest.
“Boys and girls are accepted from kindergarten to fifth grade,” Eubank said.
Anyone wanting more information or wishing to join the group should call or text Eubank at 936-225-9800.
