Deadline is Nov. 11th for ranch scholarships

THORNDALE—Deadline is Nov. 11 to submit essays to win one of 30 scholarships to Star Creek Ranch, a nondenominational church camp near Van, Texas. Thirty scholarships will be awarded, according to Richard Schneider, spokesman. He said the scholarships to the seven-day camp are valued at over $1,200 reach. Schneider said the camp is open from the end of May through the middle of August. Ages 6 to 16 are eligible. Scholarships are donated by the Sue Gove family. Applicants must submit an essay on the topic: “How Others Have Helped Shape Your Relationship With God.” There are no restrictions on length, grade schoolers may submit hand-written entries while older applicant may type. Essays may be turned in at Thorndale Elementary School.
