The 20th Annual Dewberry Jam Fiesta 5K and Kids 1K Run/Walk is set for Friday, May 3, beginning and ending at Veterans Memorial Park.
It’s an evening event this year. Registration is 4 to 6 p.m. by the city pool with the kids 1K beginning 6 p.m., followed by the awards from that race at 6:30 and the 5K run at 7.
This year also features a “party in the park” with a nacho bar, washer tourney and family fun.
Participants will complete the course on streets in the park area.
All participants who pre-register will receive a T-shirt. For race day signup, shirts will be available while supplies last.
There will be best-dressed awards.
Adult registration fee is $25 through Sunday and $30 from Monday through race day.
Kids 1K fee is $15.
Kids race recipients will receive a medal. Top three finishing male and female overall in each age division of the 5K race receive a trophy. See page 3B.
