April 7, 1899—

Contract was let for repairs and floor glazing.

“Despite these entries in minutes of the City Council, there is no clear cut entry that indicates the completion and acceptance of the building by the council. The entries simply decline until finally, on April 7, 1899, the contract is let to make repairs to the city hall, namely to glaze the floors.” (City Record Book C, p. 369)

April 1955—

Polio vaccines were given at the Milam County Health Unit staffed by a Public Health Nurse upstairs at the 1895 City Hall.

May 1955—

A full time librarian, Lee Ida Hairston, was hired and the library was expanded into a second room on the east side of the upstairs of the 1895 City Hall.
