It’s been a whirlwind of activity for Rockdale’s Jacobi Mullen. First she got engaged to Joshua Boykin, then she got married at a destination wedding in Las Vegas, so she’s now Jacobi Mullen Boykin. Now she’s back and working on her downtown business called The Snug at 121 E. Cameron Ave. and is the latest business in town to apply for and receive a façade grant from the Rockdale MDD.
“We’re called The Snug so I want it to be a cozy hangout place for people. We’ll have tables and chairs, but also comfy couches to relax in. And I want people to bring their laptops because there will be lots of USB ports once we’re all done,” she said.
In addition to all of the coziness, every day she will have five or six different kind of cupcakes as well as specialty cupcakes, a couple of regular cakes to sell by the slice, cookies, brownies, breakfast quiches and frittatas, egg bites which are low carb and have different toppings on them like bacon and sausage, breakfast muffins and breads like banana and zucchini.
There will be regular coffee and eight different specialty coffees for all the coffee lovers in town including Americanos, espressos, cappuccinos, lattes, iced coffees, café mochas and macchiatos. There will also be different kinds of syrups to customize the coffee drinks a little more. Also different kinds of waters and hot tea if that is more your style.
And for Rockdale’s dog lovers there will also be a table on the sidewalk in front for people who want to bring their pooches. And for further spoiling of your canine friends she will also be selling dog cupcakes.
She added, “Later I would like to have Wine Down nights with wine and charcuterie boards, but I just want to get open first and save that for later.”
A nice addition to Rockdale’s downtown.
