Early voting for the May 4 election for both city council and RISD school board will start on April 22, and this year the voting will take place at Rockdale City Hall in the council chamber.
Early voting dates and times are April 22 through April 26 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and April 29 and 30 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
CITY COUNCIL— At Monday night’s city council meeting, five proclamations were introduced declaring April as Fair Housing Month, National Library Month, and Earth Day on April 22.
The month of May was proclaimed Motorcycle Safety Awareness and the week of May 5 to 12 will be National Music Week.
The council also heard the first reading of an ordinance to amend street names at the Cornerstone Subdivision and took action on a plat of land at Cornerstone for Phase 1C.
