Any qualified Milam voter may cast a ballot at any of the locations.
RACES—It’s an election unlike any other in Milam County history.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Texas city and school balloting was postponed from May until the general election.
That means Rockdale residents will settle a contested school board race and decide whether to convey Fair Park from the city to the Rockdale Fair Association.
Rockdale city and Rockdale School District voters will decide the fate of a proposal to expand the bound aries of the Rockdale Hospital District to those of the school district.
There’s a school board race with Michael Whitsel and Janice Keen vying for the Place 6 position being vacated by Lin Perry.
Perry is unopposed for a west ward city council position. (Previously, Monique Gebhart had also filed for that position but she has withdrawn, according to Rockdale City Secretary Terry Blanchard).
The only contested race on the county ballot is for Precinct 4 Constable where incumbent Republican Michael Moehling Jr. is opposed by Democrat Sammy Pickett.
SAMPLE BALLOT— To see a sample ballot go to www.milamcounty.net. On the left side is a column called quick links. Click on “county offices” to see election and voter registrar department.
Then you will see the bar to click on to show you the sample ballots. You have to know which precinct and ward you are registered in because the ballots are specific to those two items.
PRECAUTIONS—Masks will be available, and there will be hand sanitizer and alcohol wipes to wipe down the machines and stylus pens will be handed out.
