A total of 2,895 Milam County residents voted early in the 2020 primaries. That total combines the Republican and Democratic votes.
That’s a substantial increase over the past two primary elections, one each held in presidential and non-presidential election years.
In 2018, a non-presidential year, there were 2,212 early votes. Four years ago, in the 2016presidential election year, 2,100 Milam residents voted early.
For comparison, in the November, 2018 general election, 5,354 persons voted early, twice the number of who voted early on election day.
BREAKDOWN—This year, 2,413 early votes were case in the Republican Primary, including 647 in Rockdale.
Democratic total was 482, including 129 in the Rockdale boxes.
