Early voting starts on Monday, April 22 for the May 4 city council and school board elections with three contested races.
SCHOOL BOARD— There are two contested races for the school board: incumbent Jason Barcak, who is being challenged by Susan Pantaleon for Place 1, and incumbent and board president Troy Zinn is challenged for the first time by retired RISD teacher Karen Kirk Laughlin for Place 2.
CITY COUNCIL— Incumbent Brad Caffey is being challenged by first time candidate Johnathan Young for a West Side position. No one challenged Scott Starnes for his East Side position so there will be no race for that position.
Early voting dates and times are April 22 through April 26 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and April 29 and 30 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the city council chambers at city hall.
