A 34-year-old Rockdale woman was charged with possession of the “designer drug” ecstasy after a Friday evening traffic stop.
Lt. Stephen Goodrich said a “powdery substance” was recovered from a passenger in the vehicle.
“It was tested and the result came back as ecstasy,” Goodrich said.
Amber Marie Harnar was charged with possession of a controlled substance (less than one gram) and was released after posting $2,500 bond.
Another drug arrest, also as the result of a traffic stop, was made about an hour previously on Friday.
Amanda Marie Bertholomey, 36, of Rockdale, was charged with possession of controlled substance (less than one gram).
At presstime, she remained in custody on $2,500 bond.
ACCIDENTS—Minor damages were reported in a two-vehicle collision US 77 near the Days Inn at 11:38 p.m. Aug. 18, in which one driver left the scene on foot
Police said the vehicle’s owner was Melissa Garcia of Austin.
Driver of the other vehicle was listed as Frederick Henderson of Rockdale.
No injuries were reported in a one-vehicle accident on FM 908 near Beverly Drive south of Rockdale.
Driver was listed as Mike Grohosky of Rockdale.
INCIDENTS—Police said an investigation continues into a report of solicitation of a minor.
“It appears drugs and cash were offered for sex,” Goodrich said.
Police said a dog reported stolen in Rockdale was recovered in Cameron.
Other offenses reported during the week included theft, possession of dangerous drug, criminal mischief, assault causing bodily injury, injury to a child, assault by contact, evading arrest and resisting arrest.
CITATIONS—Twenty four citations were filed during the last week including 11 for speeding, three for driving with license invalid and two each for public intoxication and expired driver’s license.
One ticket each was issued for failure to stop for school bus, assault by contact/threat, abuse/threatening person in public place, obscene language, passing in turn lane and possession of drug paraphernalia.
SERVICE CALLS—Officers responded to 198 calls for service during the past seven days and there were 88 calls received through the 911 system at the Rockdale Police Department.
