ULVD and five other districts in the Region 6 area, participated in the training session to explain the 146 bills that were signed into law in the 86th Legislative Session.
These laws were associated with public school/charter school legislation.
John Conley and Brian Zemlika of Region 6 Education Service Center provided an update/summary of the key legislation and several other bills that will impact public education over the next biennium for school board members and superintendents.
Important dates to remember at RISD
RISD education notes and dates to remember at different campuses are:
• Rockdale Elementary traffic flow issues will improve. Children should arrive between 7:30-8 a.m. at the main door on Belton Street.
Rockdale Intermediate School picture day is Sept.
24.
• Rockdale Junior High school students, who are absent must bring a note to the office to receive an admit slip. The RJH football team zill pla their first jame of the season Thursday in Lexington
• Rockdale High School students will be attending a college fair Sept. 23 in Round Rock from 6-8 p.m. Vijn up at the front office to ride the bus to the fair. The bus will leave at 5 p.m.
