A number of 4-H and FFA youngsters throughout Milam County just saw their “going to college” funds increase.

Final results from the Rockdale Fair Association showed the 2019 Fair set records for both the youth livestock ($447,315) auction and all auctions ($717,925) totals.

The livestock total shattered the old record of $392,870 set in 2017.

That was also the year for the old combined total of $712,270.

Fair books remain open until the Wednesday after the sale. The new total reflects an increase of the $699,349 at The Reporter’s deadline last week.

In addition to the livestock sale, the total reflects $239,490 in commercial heifers, a $21,725 bake sale (also a record, old record $16,135 in 2016) and $9,395 in ag mechanics).
