Another stellar year is in the books for the Rockdale Fair Association after bringing in $969,832 which includes all added money. Only the 2022 sale was a larger haul at $980,181.
The weather was perfect this year with no rain at all. From the carnival to the music acts and everything in between, this year’s fair ran like a well-oiled machine with fun for the whole family.
The youth livestock sale was a record-breaker, bringing in $704,552.42. Last year’s sale was $666,871.12.
The commercial heifer sale brought in $223,090. The baked goods sale added another $26,950 and ag mechanics brought in another $15,240.
As a reminder, all of the money raised goes directly to the youth who raised animals, baked goodies and did their ag mechanic projects.
Stiles Patin with Thorndale FFA took home the grand champion prize for his medium weight steer, and Landree Leifeste with Cameron 4-H took reserve champion.
The Fair Association gives a big shout out to the sponsors, without whom none of this would be possible. This year’s major sponsors were Alpha One Chevrolet, Rockdale General Store, R&B Accessories, RIOT Platforms and the Milam County Livestock Auction, LLC.
Other sponsors are All About the Bounce, Bassler Energy Services, Classic Bank, Done Right Roofing, Liberty Family Dental, Lone Star Ag Credit, Rollo Insurance, Stoney’s Liquor and Whiteley’s Farm Supply.
Also, Bland Construction, Brookshire Brothers, Hughes Surveying, Scott’s Body Shop and Rockdale Building Materials.
