Texans will get an extended early voting period for the Nov. 3 general election.

The period will now begin Tuesday, Oct. 13 and continue through Friday, Oct. 30.

The governor’s proclamation also expands the period in which marked mail-in ballots may be delivered to an early-voting clerk’s office.

SPECIAL VOTES— Rockdale voters have some decisions to make in addition to the usual November choices.

That’s because city and school elections have been rolled back from their original May dates to November because of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

There are one city council race, one school board race and two special elections on the ballot.

Lin Perry and Monique Gebhart are vying on the city ballot to replace west ward council member Doug Calame, who did not seek re-election.

The school board election pits Michael Whited and Janice Keen in Place 6.
