City crews fixing a water line leak, like this one Monday on Green Street near Hamilton, have become a familiar sight in Rockdale in recent years. It’s estimated between 30 and 40 percent of the city’s water is lost due to leaks. A massive replacement of the city’s water system has begun with water line replacement a priority. The city council is scheduled to discuss a new round of water rate increases at Monday’s monthly meeting, 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
