Texas DPS Troopers responded to a report of a major crash between two vehicles on Sunday at 8:35 p.m. A 2005 Dodge Ram pickup operated by Lena Jean Jackson, 51, Rockdale, was traveling southbound on US 77. A 2014 Ford F-250 pickup, operated by a 37 year-old male from Rockdale was traveling northbound on US 77.
According to the investigating Trooper, the Dodge Ram turned left into the path of the Ford causing a collision. Jackson was pronounced deceased on scene by Justice of the Peace Andy Issacs.
The driver of the Ford, and his female passenger, 36, Buckholts, were transported to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple with non-incapacitating injuries. Next of kin have been notified. Crash investigation is still open.
