Fire calls during the past week dispatched from the Milam County Sheriff’s Department included the following:
• 1:02 p.m. Nov. 27, report of heavy smoke, County Road 446, Rockdale VFD dispatched to find a controlled burn which had not previously been called in.
• 3:23 p.m. Nov. 27, Gause VFD summoned for mutual aid with Hearne VFD for large grass fire. Call canceled before arrival.
• 11:26 p.m. Nov. 28, power lines down at 106 West Cameron (US 79), caused 2-1/2 hour power outage downtown, Rockdale VFD.
• 1:04 p.m. Nov. 28, Rock-dale, Milano, Black Jack VFDs responded to 30-acre grass fire in 5500 block of CR 320.
• 3:46 p.m. Nov. 28, power lines touching trees 1200 bloc of CR 356.
• 4:58 p.m. Saturday, cable knocked down in front of Texas Burger on West Cameron Avenue (US 79), Rockdale VFD.
