South Milam County fire calls dispatched from the Rockdale Police Station during the past week were listed as follows:
• 7:47 a.m. Jan. 23, cable line down at 105 North Main in Thorndale, Thorndale VFD.
• 8:06 a.m. Jan. 23, reported fire one mile south of Milano off Texas 36, Milano VFD responded, upon arrival found out it was a controlled burn.
• 6:57 p.m. Friday, unknown type fire “close to residence” reported in 2600 block of FM 487 south of Rockdale, Rockdale VFD responded and found it was a controlled burn and was not close to any residence.
• 7:50 p.m. Friday, fuel spill of 13 gallons reported at Thorndale Cefco, Thorn-dale VFD responded.
• 9:01 p.m. power lines down in field off FM 486, north of Thorndale, sparking a grass fire. Thorndale VFD and Oncor responded. Fire was contained in plowed field.
