Fire calls for South Milam County volunteer fire departments during the past week through the Rockdale Police Department have been listed as follows:
• 1:03 p.m. May 21, burning reported in 16,000 block of FM 486, unable to locate, Thorndale VFD.
• 8:19 a.m. May 21, “large fire’ reported on CR 450, Thorndale VFD found a controlled burn.
• 11:20 a.m. power lines arcing in trees, 400 block of South Broadway in Thorndale, Thorndale VFD.
• 1 a.m. Monday, Rockdale VFD responded to report pf “burning smell” of wire or plastic in 2000 block of Sager, unable to locate source.
• 8:59 p.m. Monday, report of tree on fire, FM 486, Milam-Williamson County line, Thorndale VFD.
• 11:22 p.m. Monday, report of gas leak at meter, 200 block of Roberts, Rockdale VFD at Atmos Energy. Rockdale VFD was able to get gas turned off in advance of Atmos arrival.
