Fire calls for South Milam County volunteer fire departments during the past week were listed as follows:
• 1:18 a.m. Aug. 20, report of flames in area of CR 353, Gause VFD responded and said the call involved a oil pad flare.
• 3:06 a.m. Aug. 20, downed power line caused small grass fire at Meadowbrook Baptist Church, Rockdale VFD.
• 5:35 a.m. Friday, sparking power lines between FM 1712 and US 77, Rockdale VFD.
• 6:53 a.m. Friday, railroad ties smoldering, US 79 at CR 434 Loop.
• 9:37 a.m. Frdiay, railroad tie on fire, US 79 and CR 360, Milano VFD.
• 12;44 p.m. Monday, grass fire, FM 486 and CR 441, Thorndale VFD.
• 2:10 p.m. Monday, grass fire FM 486, one mile north of San Gabriel.
• 5:51 p.m. Monday, grass fire, FM 486 north of Thorndale, Thorndale VFD.
