Fire calls for South Milam County volunteer fire departments dispatched from the Rockdale Police Department during the past week were listed as follows:
• 4:48 a.m. Oct. 2, Milano VFD dispatched to small grass fire by a stopped train on railroad tracks one mile west of Milano off US 79. Upon arrival firefighters discovered the call was to a controlled burn.
• 2:57 p.m. Oct. 2, Rock-dale VFD responded to report of smoke coming out of attic on 200 block of Summit. Volunteers searched attic of residence and could detect no sign of smoke.
• 7:41 p.m. Friday, Thorn-dale VFD responded to a breaker box smoking in Hillside Mobile Home Park in Thorndale.
