FIRE CALLS
A rural home in the Thorndale area burned to the ground early Monday morning. The Thorndale and Rockdale Volunteer Fire Departments were called to the site, 2718 County Road 455 at 3:10 a.m. Thorndale Fire Chief Eric Melde told The Reporter the structure was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived. Melde said the home was totally destroyed. Firefighters stayed on the scene until mid-afternoon and the Texas State Fire Marshall’s Office was called in for an investigation, according to Melde.
