Rockdale police have finally received a positive identification from the victim of a house fire on Sept. 27, 2017.
Lt. Stephen Goodrich said the badly burned body recovered from the fire at 409 White was Jackline “Jackie” Hight, the home’s resident.
Police had believed since the fire that the body was Hight and the woman had not been seen since the day of the blaze.
Goodrich said state authorities had attempted to use dental records to identify the body but were finally able to obtain a positive ID using DNA.
The fire sent smoke billowing 40 feet into the air and was visible from most of Rockdale. It was Rockdale’s first fatal blaze in six years.
