POLICE REPORT
Rockdale police made a “2-for-1” arrest of a 44-year-old Cameron man in Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Park Friday.
Lt. Stephen Goodrich said police arrested Quentin Lamar Smith on a charge of felon in possession of a firearm.
“When Officer Joah Mc Cabe went into the trailer he found the suspect standing there ‘cooking’ what appeared to be crack cocaine,” Goodrich said.
Smith was charged with the original offense and also with possession of a controlled substance (4 to 200 grams). He remains in the county jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
INJURED—A motorcyclist was transported to Baylor Scott and White, Temple, after a two-vehicle collision at 10:41 a.m. Monday in the 400 block of West Cameron Ave. (US 79).
Police said the motorcycle, operated by Todd Meaker, 48, of Thorndale, was in collision with a car driven by 18-year-old Mackenzie Woolverton of Milano. Damage estimates were not available.
Police responded to the intersection of Cameron and Main (US 79 and FM 908) at 8:44 p.m. Friday.
Drivers were listed as: Marco Garza Jr., 24, Rio Grande City; Mark Santellano, 39, Rockdale; and Maria Elena Santellano, 37, Rock-dale.
Vehicle damage estimates were not available from police.
COUNTERFEIT— Goodrich said a counterfeit $100 bill was recovered during the past week.
He said the case remains under investigation and no arrests have yet been made.
Goodrich said a reported sexual assault during the week is also under investigation.
Other investigations begun during the past seven days include criminal mischief, theft, burglary of a vehicle and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
CITATIONS—Police issued 13 citations during the past week, 10 for speeding and one each for no driver’s license, no liability insurance and animal at large.
SERVICE CALLS—Officers responded to 166 calls for service during the seven-day reporting period and there were 92 calls to the 911 emergency exchange at the Rockdale Police Department.
