QUICK LOOK
Wilson-Ledbetter Park, on FM 1600 near Cameron’s southern city limits, is the site for Milam County’s fireworks Wednesday for the Fourth of July.
As usual, many businesses, along with city, county and federal facilities, will close for the holiday. The Reporter will be closed.
Rockdale and Cameron alternate hosting the fireworks display, which is sponsored by Classic Bank, Citizens National Bank and Standard’s Home Health.
From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. the Cameron park will feature fun and games, along with food trucks and music by the Communities in Concert Band.
There will be an apple pie-eating contest, open to the first 15 registrants, along with watermelon-seed spitting and Fourth-of-July themed singing contests.
Five-dollar wrist bands will be sold, enabling the wearer to play all games and attend a magic show with magician David G. Wonder.
The fireworks follow at dusk.
